WILD!

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, this weekend was full of first times doing things. Sunday morning (yes, we bailed on church which we never, ever do) we loaded up the mommy mobile and headed to Wild Adventures with some friends (it was bring a friend for free day and they have annual passes). I wasn't really sure how this would pan out, as you never can tell with a preschooler what they will love and what they will hate. Let me just say that this Momma has two little adrenaline junkies on her hands. They rode and loved everything available for their size and wanted to ride the big ones too! The smiles on their faces and all the giggles were priceless.

Thanks Steve, Greg, Kristina, Christian, Maddie, and Zoe for giving this Momma a very special day!

Firsts

Despite the fact that most of the "firsts" end after the first two years of a child's life, a few still creep in from time to time. I like these "firsts" even more than the ones of those first years. I think it's just that because they are so rare, they seem more special. This weekend we had two of them! And if for no other reason, that made it such a fun weekend! (more on Sunday's "first" in the next post). Saturday some good friends gave us tickets to the FSU game. Among the highlights, we played Boston College and won by the skin of our teeth. What was so monumental about this? Outside of my body, this was Maddie and Zoe's first FSU game! Steve has been to a game or two since the girls were born but the last time I was at Doak Campbell, I was about 30 weeks pregnant with the little monsters my sweet angels. I hiked my preggo bottom up all those stairs and planted it for a horrible game against Clemson. We lost that night and I delivered the girls about two weeks later. Somehow in the last four years of raising twin girls, attending football games has lost rank in the list of priorities. So like every good Seminole mother should do, I decked my little monsters little angels out in garnet and gold and off we went to our first game. The oufits: score one for mom. The game: minus ten for mom. It was a noon game and unfortunately my angels didn't tolerate the scorching sun in their eyes. Dad got to enjoy the game and I got to enjoy playing on the ramps inside the stadium with my favorite girls.  Aren't they precious?

Treats

My girls have a deep love for their "Papa". I find myself kinda fond of him myself. Their eyes light up when they are going to his house. This week Grandma was out of town, so for the last two nights he came to dinner. Maddie and Zoe thoroughly enjoyed this treat. Yesterday they all played in the yard for a little while...and had a big time! Zoe always says, "I love my Papa." And I always reply back, "Me too!"

And seriously, are you really going to judge me because my 4-year-old is playing out in the yard with her Minnie Mouse nightgown on at 6 pm? Some battles just aren't worth fighting.

Here we go!

Admittedly, my last attempt at blogging left something to be desired but I have returned with a greater sense of resolve. Yes! I can do this! You see, the girls will be four within a matter of mere weeks and boy have they developed into quite the characters! I think there was a show on television once named something like Kids Say the Darndest Things! Indeed they do. So with that in mind and my never ending list of things to do I have decided that this is the easiest way to keep track of those cute (and not so cute) things they say and do so that one day I can blackmail them with it. And to encourage my endeavor I have cashed in on a blog makeover gift certificate given to me by my marvelous hubby last year for Christmas. Yes that was nine months ago, but who's counting anyway? So with that said watch for lots of birthday month pictures (yes of their fourth birthday, I promise) and a cool new blog.
